Review: SilcArts SilcTouch Handle & Monster Dildo

One of the traits that I pay attention to in a sex toy is how easy it is to hold. I make a point in my dildo reviews to note how easy it is to hold the base and whether the toy works best for thrusting or riding. If I need a lot of force or a weird angle to thrust a dildo, then it’s just not comfortable to use, even if sitting back and thrusting is by far my favorite way to use a dildo.

Enter the SilcArts SilcTouch: An ergonomic handle created with accessibility in mind. With multiple handle sizes, Vac-U-Lock compatibility, and suction cup compatibility, it’s designed to work with a wide variety of dildos, including those made by SilcArts themselves.

Design & Specs

The small SilcTouch Handles feature a curve that is about 5″ across, which then extends 9″ along my body. In use, the tip comes up to my bellybutton. The sizing of the handles relates to the length of the curve rather than the overall length of the handle; a medium or large handle would also come up to my bellybutton.

The handles are made from urethane plastic, which feels like your standard hard plastic and is very sturdy.

The Suction Cup Handle is compatible with toys that have a built-in suction cup, toys with a flat base if used with a double-sided suction cup, and small flat toys such as grinders (more on that later). The suction cup should not exceed 2.75″ diameter when flattened.

The Vac-U-Lock Handle is compatible with toys that have a Vac-U-Lock hole. The hole (on the toy) and plug (on the handle) are a specific shape that makes them lock together so they don’t come apart in use. Vac-U-Lock holes are added as part of the production process and are usually not available in small or soft toys.

The Vac-U-Lock connection is pretty strong; there’s no risk of the handle popping out unintentionally without a lot of lube. It takes a bit of effort to put together and take apart, but I don’t find it too difficult.

Monster is a silicone dildo featuring a detailed tongue with teeth surrounding the base. Mine is a feathered, shimmery marble of dark purple, gold, light blue, and light purple. (The model was formerly called Teeth, the name of which inevitably started 5SOS playing in my head every time I thought of it.)

In size large, it’s similar to many of my medium-size dildos. In medium firmness 00-50, it has a decent amount of give without muting the texture. The surface is shiny enough to make the colors look gorgeous, but it feels like a skinlike matte.

Ordering

I purchased the suction cup handle myself, and later on was offered the opportunity to review the Vac-U-Lock handle and a dildo. Orders are made through Etsy, where SilcArts offers premade toys and handles, sometimes offering custom orders. The pink handle I ordered was a premade, while the purple handle and Monster were both customs.

SilcArts provides an option for easy-open packaging, which leaves the packaging inside the box open and includes assembling a toy and handle together before shipment.

Handles Three Ways

I tried three dildo setups with my handles:

  1. Vac-U-Lock Handle with Vac-U-Lock Monster Dildo
  2. Suction Cup Handle with suction cup dildos
  3. Suction Cup Handle with double-sided suction cups and flat-based dildos

Setup #1 (Vac-U-Lock) is by far the easiest to work with. The dildo locks into place solidly. It doesn’t rotate or tip over, and it has no risk of falling off. When I maneuver the handle, I know exactly how the dildo is going to move.

Setup #2 (dildos with built-in suction cups) doesn’t work for me. I only have three toys with suction cups and they range from “a little wider than it should be” to “way too big,” so I just don’t have any small enough. I speculate that this setup, if used with an appropriately sized suction cup base, would be similar to #1 but could be less secure with heavy toys or vigorous movement.

Setup #3 (using a double-sided suction cup) is a mixed bag. The catch is that a suction cup accessory allows the dildo to droop and wiggle, with the suction cup acting as a hinge of sorts, and the dildo can fall off with too much movement or if the dildo is too heavy. The suction cup also shifts with use and needs to be repositioned. My smallest dildos work best with this handle, giving me a range of functionality comparable to what I get with Vac-U-Lock.

The suction cup base on this dildo was a little too big for the handle, so it didn’t work out.

Handles In Use

SilcArts displays a few poses on the listing. The poses I’ve found to work alright are sitting in a seat and reclining; kneeling forward (think doggystyle) with the handle underneath me; and lying back in bed.

I don’t get as much leverage as I’d like with the handles. Keeping my hand(s) at belly button level is awkward, but it’s also awkward to grasp the base of a toy and thrust.

Reclining is the most comfortable position and is easy to work with. There’s less chance of a heavy toy drooping or slipping off, it’s easy for me to make any adjustments, and it’s easy to rub my dick.

When I’m lying down, I sometimes need to curl a bit to use the handle, which is somehow less comfortable than if I bent further to just grab the base of the dildo myself. I can make this position work out with some of my medium size toys if I’m on my back with my hips tilted upwards, letting gravity help push the dildo in and using the handle to pull it out/upwards. It’s great for a slow lovemaking fantasy. Otherwise, I’d need the handle to be 6-9″ longer to make it really comfortable to use while lying on my back.

Kneeling forward is okay for a doggystyle fantasy, but having to prop myself up while also moving the handle means I have to move slowly. Still, it’s a way to get that position without a suction cup on a wall (and frankly I’ve never gotten that to work well for me) or contorting to reach behind myself.

Slow and steady movements work best. Long thrusts work, but moving only an inch at a time in and out is easiest. Smaller dildos and the Vac-U-Lock are easiest to use at a faster pace.

In all cases, I get the most out of the handle with two points of contact: One hand near the end and the other along the curve. This lets me move the handle while keeping it stable. This might seem to defeat the point of the handle—one of my hands is right by the base—but even so, there are a few major benefits from using the handle:

  • No pressure on my fingers
  • No worries about grasping the base even if it’s small or wet
  • Movement comes from wrists and/or arms
  • Less effort to keep a dildo deep inside
  • More pressure at the base of the toy for deep thrusts

The pressure on my fingers is the biggest problem for me. Using toys shouldn’t be painful, but at times, it is. The SilcTouch saves me from some of that hassle. Even if it doesn’t work for me in all cases, using it for some sessions is a hand-saver.

Handles, But With Grinders

Speaking of pressure at the base of the toy, it’s not just great for deep thrusts. There are two big factors in the way I use grinders: Texture and pressure. I like to rub a nice texture against myself, but a key component to a great session, as with masturbating with just my fingers, is pressure. Pillow-humping is one way I achieve this. Otherwise, it’s usually my fingers providing the pressure, which neither provides the level of pressure I want nor is it easy on my hands.

SilcArts SilcTouch provides more pressure than either option. All I need to do is press the back of a grinder against the flat face of the Suction Cup Handle, sit back, and rub the grinder against myself with the handle. Since I’m not thrusting in and out, the friction of the silicone against plastic is sufficient to keep it in place. It’s very easy to hold, with one hand on the curve and, optionally, another near the end of the handle.

It doesn’t really work with large or bulky grinders. Small to mid-size grinders, the kind that would fit in your hand, work very well. The biggest consideration is size. As long as the base isn’t much wider than the flat part of the handle (2.75″ wide), it should stay in place and have pressure well distributed. In some cases, the grinder can be notably wider than the handle, but it works out as long as the center of the handle is behind the point of the grinder that I want to grind against. I’ve found that it works with most of my grinders.

I do not recommend using a double-sided suction cup with grinders. It adds room for movement like a hinge, making grinders less stable, and also adds distance between the handle and grinder. A smaller suction cup is particularly awkward. Unless the suction cup is unusually flat and about 2.5-2.7″ wide when flattened, I’m not sure it will work well.

The SilcTouch works so well for grinders that this is the main way I use the Suction Cup Handle. The only downside is that the length of the handle gets in the way. If the end of the handle were moved down so that it were even with the flat part, that would be easier to use.

Monster Dildo In Use: Vaginal

The texture on this toy is deceptively subtle. It looks shallow and low-texture, but all those details, along with the skinlike finish, make for more of a textured experience than I was expecting. As someone who loves texture, I’m really pleased with that.

The curvy shape and overall length offer gentle A-spot and G-spot stimulation. I found that the orientation of the tip makes a big difference for me. When the tip is pointed down, it’s a little uncomfortable for me; when it’s pointed up, everything is perfect.

The hollowed-out hole in the base means the toy is less sturdy without a handle. It’s functional to hold it with my hands alone or to ride it, but a little awkward and can get noisy with the way the walls of the Vac-U-Lock hole bounce against each other. That said, I like the handle enough that I don’t care to use this toy without it.

As far as tongue and maw toys go, this is the most tube-shaped one that I’ve come across. It fills the fantasy while having a more traditional dildo shape.

Compatibility

Vac-U-Lock ports should all be the same size, so they should all be compatible with the SilcTouch Vac-U-Lock Handle. Due to the size, however, Vac-U-Lock ports may not be available on small or soft toys. In addition to SilcArts themselves, the following fantasy shops offer Vac-U-Lock:

Vac-U-Lock holes are added as part of the production process for each individual toy, so cannot be added to a toy that has already been made.

The below shops sell double-sided suction cups, which can be used together with a flat-based toy and the Suction Cup Handle if the suction cup is less than 2.75″ across when flattened:

Many shops offer toys with suction cup bases, so I won’t list them all here.

Overall

SilcArts SilcTouch saves my fingers from hurting while using dildos and gives me a whole new way to use grinders. It works for a variety of positions with wrist and/or arm movement, but is not long enough for me to use very easily while lying down, and is better suited for slow movements than fast ones.

The Vac-U-Lock Handle is the most stable but is only compatible with toys that have Vac-U-Lock slots. The Suction Cup Handle can be used with dildos that have built-in suction cups, dildos used in conjunction with double-sided suction cups, or small- to mid-size grinders; when it comes to dildos, smaller ones work best.

If any new versions of the SilcTouch are made, I would love to see a short version geared towards grinders and a longer version geared towards use while lying down.

I would strongly recommend the SilcTouch for those who experience difficulty or pain when holding and thrusting dildos and for those who enjoy pressure when using grinders. This product could also assist some people with mobility restrictions.

As for the Monster dildo, its texture is low-to-moderate and provides just the right amount of friction and stimulation for my tastes. The curve is great for mild A-spot and G-spot stimulation. In size large and medium firmness 00-50, the specs are perfect for me. It’s a fantastic toy overall and I could easily recommend it to anyone with tastes similar to mine.

If Monster doesn’t appeal to you, definitely take a look at the rest of SilcArts’ dildos! Their designs and pours are gorgeous and absolutely worth checking out.
