Review: njoy Pure Wand Steel Dildo

I watched people rave for years about the njoy Pure Wand and how it was the secret to squirting, wondering if it would work for me—and, if not, if it would be worth the cost. I dug into reviews to find little information on exactly how to squirt except that it will happen, and almost no information on how it is in use if you can’t squirt. Once I had mine in hand, I had a hard time figuring out how to squirt with it. That isn’t to say the reviews were bad, but the ones I could find didn’t answer my questions.

I figured I would rather know for sure if it would make me squirt than sit around wondering forever, so I took the dive and experimented to answer my own questions.

Design & Specs

The Pure Wand from njoy is a steel dildo with a very strong curve. It’s elegant and shape-forward, built with a specific function in mind: Hammering the G-spot or P-spot. Each end is capped with a sphere, one small and one large. The large one is 4.75″ circumference (1.5″ diameter) and the small one is 3.1″ circumference (1″ diameter). Measured straight across, it’s almost 8″ long. I would estimate 5-6″ length can be inserted at a time.

Njoy’s products are made using 316 stainless steel, which is tough and resistant to corrosion. The nickel in the steel should not cause an allergic reaction because it is chemically bound, but if the toy is damaged, there is a risk. Njoy suggests not using their toys if at risk of an allergic reaction to nickel.

Steel is completely different from silicone, giving less versatility in some contexts and more in others. Temperature is a big one: Silicone is very bad at retaining temperature, but steel is easy to heat or cool. Ten seconds under hot water heats my wand right up and the metal retains that heat well.

It’s heavy, as one might expect. I worry about cracking a tile should I ever drop it in the bathroom. Compared to glass, it’s much heavier, but the smoothness and intensity of texture is comparable. I only need the tiniest bit of lube to use it.

Steel can also get expensive. Really expensive. It takes specialized equipment to produce, so it doesn’t have the personalization or creativity that you can get with silicone and sometimes glass, but it is a quality material that can offer a unique experience.

The list price of the Pure Wand is $120. Many retailers have regular sales which include njoy products, so if you’re looking for the best deal, I’d recommend shopping around and waiting for seasonal sales. The cheapest I’ve seen them go is $84 (30% off).

Squirting with the Pure Wand

Let’s talk about the big draw: Squirting.

Njoy Pure Wand is the only toy that has ever made me squirt. A few other dildos have come close, but I just can’t succeed with them. While some people can squirt more often after “unlocking” it with one toy, that is not the case for me. On one hand, I’m a little sad about that. On the other, I don’t need that kind of cleanup in my life.

I couldn’t just pop it in and magically squirt. It took me five or so long and tedious sessions to figure out how to make it work for me. Until it happened, I had no idea if I’d be successful.

I need these conditions:

  • At least moderately turned on
  • Squatting position
  • Smaller side of the wand inserted
  • Press up against my G-spot and slowly pull forward (“come hither” movement) with moderately firm pressure
  • Slow to moderate pace
  • Relax and push outward instead of clenching inward

The small end provides the pinpoint pressure I need; the large end is too broad. If I go too fast, it makes for uncomfortable pressure on my urethra and the duration of pressure is insufficient. I have tried so many different positions and this is the only way to reliably squirt. (I have gotten it to happen once with the large end while reclining. It look maybe 30 sessions to get that to happen and I wasn’t trying to squirt.)

Just to be clear: What works for me won’t work for everyone. Some people might need the broad end. Some people might squirt way easier than I can. Definitely try out different positions and techniques and have patience if it doesn’t work out at first.

The Pure Wand fits in my Liberator Wing, but there’s no easy way to make that work comfortably, and I’m honestly a little scared of falling and getting injured given how firm the dildo is. So I just squat while holding it.

After a couple minutes in the right conditions, I feel the release of hot liquid, and I can continue squirting for a good ten minutes or so if I want.

I don’t have the explosive waterworks that some can achieve. I get a gush of fluids that trickle out rather than launching out. It’s thinner than my typical lubrication and is sometimes tinted yellow. I really like the gushing feeling even though it’s only a little bit of fluid at a time. After a full session of squirting, I end up with only enough fluid to fill the palm of my hand.

The volume isn’t the goal for me; it’s the sensation and the knowledge that I’m actively coaxing out this fluid as a part of my arousal. I wish it were easier for me to squirt and that I could have more volume, but the fact that I can do so at all is extremely satisfying.

The downside of squirting with the Pure Wand is that if I do it for too long, then later on it will feel like my urethra is bruised and/or it may burn when I pee for a little while. It’s similar to when I use a very thick knotted dildo which presses against my urethra. It’s not a big problem for me, but if you’re slamming your G-spot or the space right in front of it, that can happen.

What Exactly is Squirting?

“Is squirt actually just urine?” is the question many people ask. “Is squirting different from peeing?” is the question they should be asking.

For me, squirting feels entirely sexual and it happens in a very different way than urination. The experience is completely different. If I peed the same way I squirt, I’d have to see the doctor.

There is a misconception that squirting only happens during orgasm, but it doesn’t have to. They’re entirely separate for me. In fact, I haven’t yet been able to orgasm and squirt at the same time, despite trying to do so.

While I consider the experience to be the most important part, we can still address the question of whether squirt is actually pee (for which I’ve seen answers including Yes, No, and Who Cares?). In “Nature and Origin of ‘Squirting’ in Female Sexuality” from The Journal of Sexual Medicine, researchers found that in those who produce a large amount of fluid when squirting, the answer was both yes and no: An empty bladder would fill back up right before squirting, with the addition of prostatic secretions for some participants. (This was a very limited study with only 7 participants, so who knows how many people this applies to, but it’s interesting information nonetheless.)

So for some people, squirt probably includes urine, but isn’t only urine. That tracks with my personal experience.

I worried I’d be squicked out by that, especially since it’s sometimes tinted yellow for me, but I really don’t mind. Piss play is a huge turn-off for me (no shame for those who like it, though), but I have no issues with squirt. I don’t really have an explanation for that one except that it might go back to the fact that the experience is the most important part for me.

Non-Squirting Use (Vaginal)

Njoy Pure Wand is enjoyable even when not used for squirting.

The curve on this thing is wicked. Instant G-spot stimulation. I have a hard time inserting it in a way that doesn’t immediately poke right into my G-spot. Normally I enjoy broad or rough G-spot stimulation from a dildo’s head or the underside of a curve. The Pure Wand is so focused and slick that it feels more like poking my G-spot than rubbing it. To be clear, that’s a good thing; just different.

The small head is the more poking and prodding side. It’s not sharp like a poke, but it is precise. I can feel exactly where it is and where it’s pressing, which is very strong and focused stimulation.

The big head is broad and a lot more like what I’m used to. It provides solid pressure that’s not as narrowed down, making it feel less focused and less intense. Or maybe just intense in a different way. It’s kind of like having a really good dildo head without the fuss of a shaft.

Sometimes I want the pinpoint stimulation that comes from the small side. Sometimes that’s not enough because I want to feel sensation across a broader area, which is when I prefer the large side. Both are very nice to feel. It’s easy enough to swap between them as long as I have a cloth to quickly wipe down whichever side I’m going to hold.

It’s easy to hold, but it is slightly annoying. I find it easiest to hold a dildo at an angle, with my hand not specifically centered above my crotch. With the Pure Wand, I need to keep my hand centered above my crotch because I want the stimulation against the very center of my front wall. It’s not ideal.

The weight is very satisfying. It’s easy to find a thrusting rhythm with the way the weight naturally pulls it down into me, and the pressure from the weight is very nice. It glides in use from both the smoothness and the weight.

Overall

The njoy Pure Wand is an excellent dildo with a specialized design. It succeeds in making me squirt and is excellent at pressing against my G-spot, but it took a number of attempts before I could actually squirt and I still haven’t attained any more than a gush. Squirting aside, it’s still very nice for front wall and G-spot stimulation.

I may typically prioritize texture, but I also greatly appreciate an excellent shape. The Pure Wand falls into the latter category. However, given the niche shape and the lack of filled sensation, it’s not something I reach for often unless I really want to squirt or really want the specific feeling of weighted pressure. Something like the njoy Eleven would probably be more satisfying for me as a filling and textured steel dildo, especially now that I know I like steel as a material, but a large silicone dildo would be significantly cheaper if I’m not determined to get steel.

I would absolutely recommend the njoy Pure Wand to anyone who enjoys G-spot or P-spot stimulation and anyone who wants to try squirting. I can’t guarantee it will make everyone squirt, but if any toy is going to succeed, it’s this one.
